By now, it’s hardly a secret thatrestaurant employees go to work when they’re sick. But yesterday, a small group of protesters stood outside theCapital Grille in midtownin hopes of getting paid sick leave at the restaurant. The steakhouse chain is owned by Darden, which also owns megachains like Red Lobster and Olive Garden (we hear the Olive Garden in Grand Forks, North Dakota, is quite good). Anyway, asCrain’spoints out, 75 percent of restaurant workers don’t get paid sick leave, and the company doesn’t seem too concerned about the protesters. [Crain’s NY]
