Admittedly Grub Street was a little skeptical ofFoobooz’s reportearlier this week that Stephen Starr’s Spotted Pig gastropub, going in at 18th and Sansom streets, was “frantically” being built out. Can you blame us? We previously reported that it was to open inNovember, and rumors of the pub’s opening, not to mention that whole Ken Friedmanis/is not involvedthing, stretch back as far as last April. But Meal Ticket’s scoop this morning that Starr intends to call the pub Dandelion and that he expects to have it opened before Christmas, gives some validity to Foobooz’s earlier claim. Now the Insider is corroborating the story with an explanation of the pub’s dandy name.
