Though in the past his reps havequelled rumors of a forthcoming food truck(they’ve put the kibosh on rumblings of a brick-and-mortar operation, too), Brother Question was talking up food trucks when Grub caught him at Sunday night’sRock ‘n’ Wine Benefit, hosted byVanity Fairand benefiting the Mario Batali Foundation. “My dream of a food truck,” Questo told Grub Street. “That’s why I am late.”
He had actually just come from his private, sold-out event at Audrey Claire Taichman’s Cook in Philly, where he and his chefs were demoing dishes from Quest Loves Food. “It is a really clever restaurant,” he said of Cook. “Twenty people are part of a master class and they bring out a chef and they make four or five courses.”
When asked about whether Mario Batali would be involved with the hush-hush venture, Quest replied, “ No, but he’s here to give me advice.” He then explained how both he and the orange-rubber-clogged host ofThe Chewhave endorsements from percussion guru and cookware-maker Vic Firth. “As soon as my official venture is announced, Mario and I will be the only people with Vic Firth endorsements for something other than drumsticks,” he said. “I’ll put it that way. And that’s all I can say.”
