What to Eat at Buddha Beer Bar, Coming Soon to Inwood

There seems to be a Korean taco boomlet on both ends of the island: Kortakorecently bowedin the financial district, and now Inwood will get its own source for the fusion favorite when Buddha Beer Bar opens in a few weeks. James Lee, of181 Cabrini,Zanny’s Cafeand the formerSaurin Parke Cafe, is behind the place, which offers 24 beers on tap, an extensive bourbon selection, and a menu of international bar food (or, better yet, “international drunk food” as a tipster described it to us).

To drink, expect hard-to-find European microbrews like Golden Pheasant from Eastern Europe and Kapuziner Weisbier from Germany. The food menu is all over the place, with options like Korean fried chicken, kafta with homemade hummus, kimchee tacos, chili, and seasonal homemade sausages, and, for the more adventurous, offal dishes such as chimichurri cow hearts. We also learned that the restaurant will have a rooftop garden whose fresh produce and herbs will be used in the bar.
