What You Missed at Yesterday’s M. Wells P.S. 1 Preview Brunch

Yesterday, Hugue Dufour, Sarah Obraitis, and the M. Wells team previewedtheir forthcoming (and yet-to-be-fully-renovated) space at the MoMA’s P.S. 1, just a few blocks from the original diner car in Long Island City. The crowd was comprised of 25 MasterCard holders who bought $75 tickets, and Grub Street was lucky enough to sneak in and get a look.

Future plans are still a little unclear, as a grand opening date has yet to be announced and a possible name change might be in the works (M. Wells DiNette and M. Wells Food Hall are two options). What wasn’t unclear was the food, which, true to form, was full of soft-centered eggs, foie gras, caviar garnishes, and cartoonishly huge seafood offerings, including two ten-foot wooden planks carrying steamed shellfish and truffle-topped croque monsieurs. Check it all out in our slideshow, straight ahead.
