Shalom Japan Begins Brunch Service; the Gander Hosts Happy Hour

• Soho’sChicaneis set to launch its brunch menu this weekend. The French restaurant plans to serve brioche French toast, vegetable hash, and crab-cake Benedict. [Grub Street]

• On April 19,Shalom Japanalso plans to launch weekend brunch service, with offerings like congee with pork belly and poached eggs, and pastrami omurice (an omelette wrapped in pastrami-fried rice). • Starting this afternoon,Lugo Caffedelivers the entirety of its Italian menu for the first time. Hours are Monday to Friday, noon to 9 p.m., and Saturday to Sunday, 5 to 9 p.m. [Grub Street]

• Jesse Schenker’s new restaurant,the Gander, invites guests to cocktail hour, held on weeknights between 5 and 7 p.m. Drink specials ($10 and $14 cocktails, $3 PBR) and menu items are available. [Grub Street]
